THE BEGINNING

The beginning of the family tradition with the unique ouzo recipe featuring Chios anise.

1900

THE FIRST LICENSE

Giannis Stoupakis obtains the first official distillation license from the Ottoman Empire in the village of Daphne, Chios.

1960

THE SECOND GENERATION

Alexandros Stoupakis continues the distillery, representing the second generation.

1990

THE RENAISSANCE

The third generation (the founder’s grandson, Giannis) takes over, revives, and trademarks the “Kazanisto” brand.

2008

MODERNIZATION

The distillery is renamed “Stoupakis Chios Distillery S.A.” The facilities are modernized, while respecting traditional distillation methods.
